It all started last November 2021. Back then, I was still navigating the routines of my government job. While it offered stability, a part of me craved something more. Enter the world of freelancing – a concept that had always intrigued me but remained on the periphery of my thoughts.
One fateful day, curiosity took hold. I dove headfirst into researching what freelancing entailed. Facebook groups became my virtual classrooms, overflowing with insights and experiences from seasoned freelancers. YouTube tutorials offered practical advice, and countless Google searches satiated my thirst for knowledge.

The more I learned, the more excited I became. The idea of being my own boss, managing my time, and choosing projects that aligned with my passions was incredibly appealing. Freelancing wasn’t just a job; it painted a picture of a lifestyle I yearned for.
This initial spark of intrigue quickly ignited a fire within me. I devoured every piece of information I could find, from project management tips to client communication strategies. The more I learned, the more confident I felt about taking the plunge into the freelance world.
With a newfound knowledge base, it was time to translate theory into practice. My research pointed me towards Upwork and Onlinejobs.ph, two popular platforms teeming with freelance opportunities. Eager to showcase my skills and attract potential clients, I embarked on a mission to optimize my profile.
I meticulously crafted my profile description, highlighting my skills and experience with relevant keywords. Eye-catching visuals and a compelling bio further enhanced my online presence. I meticulously combed through project listings, tailoring my proposals to align with each client’s specific needs.
While optimizing my profile and proposals was a crucial step, it was just the beginning. The next part of this blog series will delve deeper into my journey.
